I was very excited when season 2 was announced for The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls 2nd Season, because I felt that the first season ended on a high note and it needed to continue. Story-wise I think this season did a really good job, with the arrival of the new 365 Production Director, the Cinderella Project is almost entirely shuts down, but Producer-kun steps up and proposes a Cinderella Ball Program that includes all of the member of the Cinderella Project! Of course there are some things that come along like our new director being sneaky and actually scouting out some of the Cinderella Member for her own Krone Project. And here’s when things start to get a little icky for me. From here New Gens is broken up and Uzuki is in distress because she feels like she’s not good enough to be an Idol and that’s why Rin and Mio left her. That’s to be expected after being left behind, what really bugs me was the interactions between the three characters. Sure they showed concerned for each other but nothing was never really done to bring her back. They just stared at her, knowing that something was wrong with her and did NOTHING. The emotional build up for this particular arc was almost pitiful. It was a big pity party for Uzuki (Had they done something similar to the Chihaya back story in the original Idolm@ster things would be WAAAY different) and the worst part was that Mio and Rin did very minimal things for her. And then “magically” Uzuki gets the courage again to return to the stage after having a moment with Producer-kun and BAM back in business. Personally I think that the Uzuki problem kind of wasn’t resolved. I mean it was resolved in a bad way, maybe something else could’ve been done but hey it’s whatever. One of the main points that made me really like this anime was the dancing animation throughout both season, because Idolm@ster dance scenes are great okay?
