Well, well, well, if I didn’t know any better I would’ve thought Makoto Shinkai actually did this one. If you’re a sucker for beautiful animation and Makoto Shinkai style animation then look no further because Nerawareta Gakuen’s artwork and animation is BEAUTIFUL. Works cannot not explain the magical moments that the animation creates. The atmosphere is stunning and breathtaking. But with that said and done… as for the story… eh not so much. The plot is a little bit confusing (ACTUALLY IT’S VERY CONFUSING). There are many plot holes throughout the entire movie. Many questions are left unanswered even at the end of the movie. The title of the movie is Nerawareta Gakuen which is translated to Psychic School Wars, and you WOULD EXPECT a war between psychics right? WRONG. Nope they just brainwash you and ban cellphones from your school DUN DUN DUN. The story had the potential to go further, and have an emotional build up but with a half-ass antagonists like this… it’s just pitiful. The reason for the high score was mostly thanks to the animation and the soundtrack (I mean supercell did the OP how can you not like it?).
