NOW HERE IS AN ANIME WITH A SOME GOOD SUSPENSE AND MYSTERY!! Very few anime in the mystery genre really get my attention, it’s because it’s either
1) really light and fluffy (like Tantei Opera Milky Holmes) or
2) the story is just too predictable!
Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru has not only superior animation and artwork but also a VERY engrossing and intriguing story! We follow the crazy life of Shoutarou, our Protag-kun, and Sakurako-san, the beautiful Bone-freak, and their encounters with different cases that usually involve…YOU GUESSED IT! BONES!! And what’s interesting about the show is the amount of information you can gain just from observing a set of bones, their age, cause of death, gender, illnesses etc. That information in turn can translate into other types of facts about that persons life! This gives the story a sort of realistic possibility that makes you feel uneasy sometimes, and sometimes that leads to a very dark situation. As you get further into the story it seems that Sakurako-san has some unfinished business with a person that constantly shows up in the major cases that they stumble upon. There are still many questions left unanswered and it seems like the story has more to offer so for now I’ll keep it short and wait for season 2!!!
