Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut [8/10]

“Lux, a former prince of an empire named Arcadia that was overthrown via a rebellion five years earlier, accidentally trespasses in a female dormitory’s bathing area, sees the kingdom’s new princess Lisesharte naked, incurring her wrath. Lisesharte then challenges Lux to a Drag-Ride duel. Drag-Rides are ancient armored mechanical weapons that have been excavated from ruins all around the world. Lux used to be called the strongest Drag-Knight, but now he’s known as the “undefeated weakest” Drag-Knight because he will absolutely not attack in battle. After his duel with Lisesharte, Lux ends up attending the female-only academy that trains royals to be Drag-Knights.”
For me Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut was one of the “generic” anime from the get go, and it was. BUT it’s one of the better of the generics! The thing that really made it better than the rest are the character designs and the characters themselves! There’s no best girl, only because every girl is best girl! All the characters are very likable and the harem that forms around Lux is a nice one, not where he’s dense about everything but he picks Lisha but still hangs around the other girls, and I think that’s a nice rather than a dense Protag who just doesn’t pay attention to anything. Story-wise Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut isn’t too bad, although there are a lot of questions: like what exactly are Drag-Rides? What are Abyss? and Where do they come from? Why are there ruins each with a ragnarok that could possible destroy the world? What’s up with so many characters having white hair????? At the end of the last episode we get a glimpse of Lux’s brother (the big bad villain) so that could probably mean that a season 2 is on the way, but with nothing annouced yet we’ll have to wait and see!!
