Being a HUGE fan of Makoto Shinkai, this review may a little biased….BUT Kimi no Na wa is a MASTERPIECE. The animation is already a given that’ll be amazing, AND LET ME TELL YOU RIGHT NOW. IT’S OUT OF THIS FRICKING WORLD. Everything  ties together there are no wasted scenes throughout the entire movie. Every shot, every angle, serves a purpose and that makes it easy for the audience to understand where the plot is going. The character designs are like Anohana and Kokoro ga Sakebitagatterunda! And I think they are absolutely stunning and “real”. Real, not like realistic, but real as in they have depth and their expressions clear to the audience. The story that is the backbone of Kimi no Na wa is unbelieveable, and I mean that in a good way. The plot twist(s) were so sudden, so drastic, that I needed some time after the movie to recuperate and gather my thoughts before I could even talk. I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who is curious in it. I’m for sure going to buy the blu-ray and watch it a thousand (or more) times!!
