Plot (In my own words):

Satou Matsuzaka, a girl who just found the love of her life. Shio Kobe, an elementary school girl who waits for Satou to return from work every night. They live together in a small apartment without a care in the world…or so you would think. Needing money to pay the bills and to put food on the table, Satou works tirelessly to keep Shio happy. All the while trying to contain her secret that reeks in a room behind a heavy lock.

Recommendation:

It’s been a long time since an anime has left such a dark and bitter taste in my mouth after just the first episode. The warning I put out isn’t a joke, Happy Sugar Life may sound cute and sweet but underneath it’s a very disturbing show. Dark and controversial themes play a crucial role in this psychological horror show, just be ready to feel extremely uncomfortable.
