Boku no Hero Academia the Movie: Futari no Hero, despite having some mistakes here and there on certain story elements and art, is a fantastic movie. An original story is tough to pull off as it is but to also tie it back to the source material and still make it engaging is a challenge and a risk. That risk paid off as Boku no Hero the Movie was a huge success and is wonderful to watch.

Sunohara-sou no Kanrinin-san is both what I expected and also what I didn’t expect, a wonderful comedic show with a very homey feel. With a wonderful color palette and character designs topped with a solid soundtrack, Sunohara-sou no Kanrinin-san is definitely one of the favorites of the season!

Harukana Receive isn’t just any other moe anime, it’s a SPORTS MOE ANIME. Joking aside, Harukana Receive’s wonderful art and characters, paired with an amazing soundtrack, and an underdog story makes for a very well done anime.

Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii is a fresh new look at the romantic comedy featuring office workers rather than high schoolers, but the catch is that the main cast are all otakus! What makes this show so great is that it’s so darn relatable! Pair that with a fun 90s romantic comedy soundtrack, solid art and character designs, and finally characters are both simple yet multilayered and you have yourself an anime masterpiece! Don’t let this anime slip by!

Based off of a Visual Novel, Island is a mystery Sci-fi that will have you asking “what did I just watch” by the last episode. Even with a good soundtrack and solid character designs, the compressed and somewhat rushed ending will leave you feeling unsatisfied and needing to play the original source material.

Nanatsu no Taizai continues onto another season continuing to dish out wonderful art and animation paired with a breathtaking soundtrack. However; the story is rushed and the strength gap between Meliodas and the other character makes the rest of the show seems meaningless.

Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online is a great side story from the original Sword Art Online. With great animation and artwork similar to the original anime, it’s a must watch for die-hard SAO fans. Though the character development is minimal and the story too focused on the Squad Jams, all other elements are still interesting enough to make it a decent watch.

While the continuation of a great series like Full Metal Panic is great, it must be well executed to satisfy the needs of die-hard fans (especially after a 13-year hiatus), and, sadly, Full Metal Panic: Invisible Victory didn’t cut it for me. While the improved artwork and soundtrack were great to see and hear, the lack of real character development and poor storyline took the enjoyment out of watching the new season.
