Anime to Watch out for in Fall 2019!!

Hi everyone!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted any reviews! As some of you may know, I’ve been in the process of moving! And I’ve had to move twice within the last 3 months, which is both tiring and time-consuming. As well as transitioning into my new job, it’s been a rough few months but now that I’m somewhat settled, I should be able to get back to my usual routine. But I will be limiting the amount that I post from now on. Which I’ll type out in another post! But as usual here is the Anime that I’ll be watching this Fall 2019 season!

Assassin’s Pride

Assassins Pride

  • Studios: EMT Squared
  • Source: Light novel
  • Genres: Fantasy
  • Synopsis: “The series takes place in a world where only those from noble families have the mana to be able to fight against monsters. Kufa is a noble born to a duke’s family who is sent to tutor a young woman named Merida. If it turns out that Merida has no talent with mana, Kufa is secretly instructed to assassinate her.” -Anilist

I’ve seen a handful of EMT Squared’s shows and it’s been hit or miss. Their anime shorts are great but their full-length shows are rough around the edges but this might be the one that brings it all together? Either the story looks interesting and I’m looking forward to watching it!

Azur Lane

Azur Lane

  • Studios: Bibury Animation Studios
  • Source: Game
  • Genres: Action, Military, Historical
  • Synopsis: “Grotesque, strong enemy called Siren has suddenly appeared from the sea. In order to fight against them, a group of army Azure Lane has formed. They were successful in stopping the attack from Siren for a moment using warships, the different ideals from the people who formed it has shown. The story is about girls fight the strong enemies that they never face while dealing with the trouble in each camp.” -MAL News

I’m sure, at this point, everyone has heard of Azur Lane, the mobile game with the ads that are all over social media. I have been interested since I’ve spent some time playing Kancolle (which also features anime boats). As I’ve never played the game, I’m going in blind and seeing what it has to offer. Another exciting thing about this show is the animation studio that will be producing it, Bibury Animation Studio. The studio is very new and Azur Lane will be their first TV show production (they’ve made a promotional video for theit studio which you can watch here, as well as the Grisaia Movie “Grisaia: Phantom Trigger”.)

Fun Fact: Bibury Animation Studio is named after the town of Bibury in England!

Boku no Hero Academia 4

Boku no Hero Academia 4th Season

  • Studios: Bones
  • Source: Manga
  • Genres: Action, Comedy, Super Power, School, Shounen
  • Synopsis: The fourth season of Boku no Hero Academia

While it hasn’t been that long since the third season of Boku no Hero Academia ended, the wait seemed like it lasted forever! The anticipation for this new season is at an all-time high. And if you haven’t seen this show yet, I highly recommend giving it a try from season 1, as most other anime viewers would tell you the same!

Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai 2

Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai 2

  • Studios: Silver, Arvo Animation
  • Source: Manga
  • Genres: Harem, Comedy, Romance, School, Shounen
  • Synopsis: The second seaon of Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai

I’m extremely excited about this new season of BokuBen! I absolutely adored the first one and getting a second season so quickly is a miracle! A great romantic comedy that’s about cute girls who don’t know how to study, what more can you ask for?!

Chihayafuru 3

Chihayafuru 3

  • Studios: Madhouse
  • Source: Manga
  • Genres: Game, Slice of Life, Sports, Drama, School, Josei
  • Synopsis: The third season of Chihayafuru

What an unexpected sequel! It’s been a good 6 years since the last Chihayafuru anime (Chihayafuru’s OVA). Chihayafuru holds s special place in my heart, it’s one of my favorite shows, not initially, but I found that there’s a unique charm that it has as I was watching through it and for it to come back, is a big rush of nostalgia!

Fairy Gone 2

Fairy Gone 2nd Season

  • Studios: P.A. Works
  • Source: Original
  • Genres: Action, Demons, Fantasy, Magic, Supernatural
  • Synopsis: The second season of Fairy Gone

Fairy Gone was…well interesting. The first season left a lot to be desired because it featured quite a bit of politics of the world and not enough story and character development to create an engaging story. Let’s hope season two is less about political standings and more action and development!

Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia

Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia

  • Studios: CloverWorks
  • Source: Game
  • Genres: Action, Fantasy, Magic, Supernatural
  • Synopsis: “An adaptation of the Seventh Holy Grail War, The Absolute Frontline in the War Against the Demonic Beasts Babylonia Singularity of Fate/Grand Order.” -TYPE-MOON Wiki

Being a Fate Grand Order player (I’m on a 2-year hiatus) as well as a Fate fan, It’s hard to pass up on this. The preview makes the animation look fantastic and really showcases CloverWorks’ ability to animate articulate fight scenes (which is starting to get close to the ufotable standard!). I’m excited to see how the story will be animated!

Granblue Fantasy: The Animation 2

Granblue Fantasy The Animation Season 2

  • Studios: MAPPA
  • Source: Game
  • Genres: Adventure, Fantasy
  • Synopsis: The second season of Granblue Fantasy: The Animation

Granblur fantasy is back with another season and that means more characters to show up and be animated! I recently got into the fandom myself, long after finishing the first season of the anime. While I’m not in too deep yet, I’m still very excited all of the characters come to life! WARNING, there is an animation studio change! MAPPA will be taking over the production of season 2, rather than A-1 who did the production for season 1. It’ll be interesting to see how the character designs are translated from a game and from one studio to another!

Shinchou Yuusha: Kono Yuusha ga Ore TUEEE Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru

Shinchou Yuusha: Kono Yuusha ga Ore Tueee Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru

  • Studios: White Fox
  • Source: Light novel
  • Genres: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy
  • Synopsis: “Goddess Listarte, the savior of the super hard-mode world Gairbrunde, summons a hero to her aid. The hero, Seiya Ryuuguuin, holds the cheat-rank status, but he is ridiculously cautious. For instance, he would buy three sets of armor: one to wear, a spare, and a spare for the spare. Beyond keeping an absurd amount of item stock, he remains in his room for muscle training till he reaches the max level and fights slimes at full power just to stay on the safe side.” – MAL News

I really enjoy Isekai that features an overpowered protagonist! But the synopsis for this show makes it sound hilarious, as fellow gamers can relate to Seiya’s tendencies. White Fox has done a lot of good work and this one seems like a good fit for them. I’m looking forward to seeing how the story develops!

Nanatsu no Taizai: Kamigami no Gekirin

Nanatsu no Taizai: Kamigami no Gekirin

  • Studios: Studio Deen
  • Source: Manga
  • Genres: Action, Adventure, Supernatural, Magic, Fantasy, Shounen
  • Synopsis: The third season of Nanatsu no Taizai

Ah yes, the return of Nanatsu no Taizai! The story got quite large and out of hand last season and it’s going to be interesting to see how the twists and turn from season 2 will affect season 3. This is one of those great shounen shows that people tend to drop because of the strange character designs and ecchi, but I assure you that Nanatsu no Taizai is up there with the best!

You can check out my thoughts on the previous season here.

No Guns Life

No Guns Life

  • Studios: Madhouse
  • Source: Manga
  • Genres: Action, Sci-Fi, Seinen
  • Synopsis: “Ex-soldier Juuzou Inui has one question—who turned him into a cyborg and erased his memories? After the war, cyborg soldiers known as the Extended were discharged. Juzo Inui is one of them, a man whose body was transformed, his head replaced with a giant gun! With no memory of his previous life—or who replaced his head and why—Inui now scratches out a living in the dark streets of the city as a Resolver, taking on cases involving the Extended. When a fellow Extended showed up in Inui’s office—on the run from the Security Bureau with a kidnapped child in tow and asking for help—Inui should have just thrown the guy out. But Inui’s loyalty to a brother Extended makes him take the job. Keeping the child safe won’t be easy, since everyone seems to want to grab him, from street punks to the megacorporation Berühren, who have sent out a special agent that knows exactly how to deal with the Extended…” -VIZ Media

Whoa, Madhouse is tackling two shows in a single season? No Guns Life looks….decent but as it’s Madhouse I’m down to give it a try. It’s funny that there’s a “hard-boiled” robot as one of the characters. I’m not sure if I should take it as a joke or not (because the only I’ve seen a “hard-boiled” type of character, it’s usually a gag through the show rather than a serious story element). From the preview, it looks like the show might end up similar to Shoumetsu no Toshi, so I’m iffy on this one.

Ore wo Suki nano wa Omae dake ka yo

Ore wo Suki nano wa Omae dake ka yo

  • Studios: Barnum Studio, Connect
  • Source: Light novel
  • Genres: Comedy, Romance, School
  • Synopsis: “Amatsuyu Kirasagi is invited out alone by the cool beauty upperclassman Cosmos and his childhood friend Himawari. Expecting to hear their confessions, he triumphantly goes to meet each of them in turn. But Cosmos and Himawari both instead confess to Amatsuyu that they like his friend. Amatsuyu fights this lonely battle, but there is another girl who is looking at him. She is a gloomy girl with glasses and braids. Amatsuyu finds that he hates her, because she’s always turning her sharp tongue only on him and finding enjoyment in his troubles. But it turns out that she’s the only one who actually does like him.” – Ore wo Suki nano wa Omae dake ka yo (manga)

The harem shenanigans that I need every season is here! ORESUKI, looks promising in all departments, the character designs are wonderful and the story sounds like it has a lot of twists and turns! But to be honest the show could go either way. As for the animation studios, it looks like it’ll be a joint between Barnum Studio and CONNECT. I’ve seen a little bit of CONNECT work (Senryuu Shoujo) which is quite nice. Barnum Studio seems to do a lot of joint work. It’ll be interesting to see how everything develops, I have high hopes for this one!

Psycho-Pass 3

Psycho-Pass 3

  • Studios: Production I.G
  • Source: Original
  • Genres: Action, Sci-Fi, Police, Psychological
  • Synopsis: The second season of Granblue Fantasy: The Animation

Well, I guess this season is full of surprises! I didn’t expect this sequel either! For the hardcore Psycho-Pass fans, this is probably no surprise as there has been a series of movies that have been releasing steadily since the beginning of 2019. The last Psycho-Pass media I’ve seen is the Psycho-Pass movie back in 2015. The third installment of the anime TV show will feature 1-hour length episodes as well as two new rookie characters that will take the role of protagonists. I’m looking to seeing more Psycho-Pass!

You can check out my thoughts on the movie here. (It’s a very old review…)

Radiant 2

Radiant 2nd Season

  • Studios: Lerche
  • Source: Manga
  • Genres: Action, Adventure, Magic, Fantasy
  • Synopsis: The second season of Radiant

AHHH I’m so excited! Radiant was a dark horse for me when it first aired! The French manga blew me away and I’m still sad that it’s not getting the recognition that it deserves! Radiant ended the previous season with a high note and this new season is bound to be action-packed! The character development and art are wonderful. If you haven’t started, please watch it!

Shokugeki no Souma: Shin no Sara

Shokugeki no Souma: Shin no Sara

  • Studios: J.C.Staff
  • Source: Manga
  • Genres: Ecchi, School, Shounen
  • Synopsis: The fourth season of Shokugeki no Soma

I’m not as excited about this season as I should be. The previous season was so rushed and so many important details missing from the story and characters. I hope J.C. Staff took the time to analyze the mistake that they made and improve this season. I love the Shoukugeki manga a lot and I want justice for the anime!

You can check out my thoughts on the previous season here.

Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld

Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld

  • Studios: A-1 Pictures
  • Source: Light novel
  • Genres: Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Game, Romance
  • Synopsis: The second part of Sword Art Online: Alicization

As I’ve said time and time again, Sword Art Online: Alicization is the best installment in the series and I’m beyond excited for the second half of the show. There are bound to be a lot of intense scenes and massive story development as well as character development for all of our favorite characters. I have no idea what will happen but the anticipation is killing me!

You can check out my thoughts on the previous season here.

Watashi, Nouryoku wa Heikinchi de tte Itta yo ne!

Watashi, Nouryoku wa Heikinchi de tte Itta yo ne!

  • Studios: Project No.9
  • Source: Light novel
  • Genres: Comedy, Fantasy
  • Synopsis:“When the eldest daughter of the Ascham household, Adele, turned ten, she remembered everything from her past life when she was hit with a strong headache. She was Kurihara Misato in her previous life, who died when she was 18 trying to help a little girl, consequently followed by an encounter with God. During their meeting, she pleaded to lead an average life with average skills. After all, her somewhat capable self has been burdened with all the expectations brought up to her. However, things don’t just go quite as planned as she has to be careful not upping to the S-ranks accidentally if she wishes to maintain her desired average life.” -MAL News

I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about this one! The story is hilarious and the art is incredibly cute, from the preview anyway! As an Isekai anime fan, I can’t pass this one up. Though, as Project No.9, will be in charge of producing the show…I don’t expect anything out of the ordinary, as their work is known to be rough around the edges.

As you can tell there are a lot of sequels and not that many new anime, but it’s still exciting to see shows continue beyond a single season!

Did I miss a show that you think I should watch?
